why Luxology licenses its products to you, not to your machines. Our straightforward
licensing philosophy allows you to use modo on the machine you need to use
it on, period. Lost your hard-drive in a crash? No need to contact us and
beg us for a new license. Go download your license from your Luxology account!

Never be without modo
3D graphics work is complex enough. The least we can
do is make the licensing structure as simple as possible. We know that you're
not always at the same workstation. You travel. You do work on-site. That's
why we let you download your licensed copy of modo from your Luxology account
anytime, to wherever you are.
No dongle
We hate dongles (those strange things that come with
some computer programs that must be present for your software to run). They
break, get lost and (oddly) even get stolen. But mainly they are a hassle.
And that is why modo does not come with one. That makes it easier to buy modo
over the Internet too—so you are up and running immediately.
PC or Mac
With modo, you do not need to choose. Your license to modo includes the right to use it on both platforms! And we mean platform(s). With your modo license you can render on up to fifty workstations, each with any number of cores.
No annual maintenance fee
Our business model is simple and is based on new
software sales and upgrades. Historically, most of our software updates have been provided at no cost. When we do charge for upgrades, we have to earn your money
each time by providing real value that you need. You do not have to pay us
for an annual subscription service that you may not ever need.
