Los Angeles (SIGGRAPH) – August 12, 2008 – Luxology® LLC, developers of modern, artist-focused 3D software, today announced Bentley Systems, the global leader in software for sustaining infrastructure, has licensed its Nexus rendering technology. Bentley chose Nexus for its overall performance and plans to use it for enhancements to Bentley’s MicroStation product line and many more applications in Bentley’s comprehensive portfolio of products.
“At Bentley, we listen closely to our users and understand that their need for photorealistic renderings to win new business and bring existing projects to successful completion continues to grow,” said Bentley Systems Executive Vice President Ray Bentley. “We’ve always delivered an outstanding set of visualization tools, and now, through our new licensing agreement with Luxology, we will provide our users with rendering technology that takes visualizations to an unsurpassed level of realism.”
“Our users will never have to leave MicroStation to produce state-of-the-art imagery that is indistinguishable from photos of the completed design,” continued Bentley. “Furthermore, our ongoing licensing arrangement with Luxology gives us access to the steady stream of enhancements from Luxology’s outstanding development team and will allow us to provide our users with ‘best of breed’ visualization for years to come.”
Luxology’s technology licensing program enables partners to leverage the company’s Nexus software architecture to build targeted 2D and 3D applications for the PC and Mac, or to add new 3D capabilities to existing software. Luxology offers a variety of associated professional services to its technology licensing partners, including custom development and a variety of support options.
“Bentley put us through a rigorous comparison test and we feel fortunate for this opportunity to work with one of the architecture, engineering, and construction community’s leading providers of software solutions and products,” said Brad Peebler, Luxology President and Founder. “We look forward to seeing how Bentley and MicroStation users take advantage of the rendering power we are providing.”
