Learn modoResources for Using and Learning modo Quick TipsIf you are new to modo or have recently upgraded to modo 401, check out the modo Quick Tips that are accessible from the File menu. Here you will find four movies: introduction of what’s new in modo 401, presentation of the modo 401 layout, how to work with the new Fur material, and how to perform basic rigging and animation. You will also find links to the Luxology Asset Portal and Luxology TV (explained below) from the Quick tips box. User GuideAccess the modo User guide inside of modo from the Help > Documentation menu. This is an ideal place to get an overview of modo once you have watched the Quick Tips videos. Use the Search function for specific queries or read the whole document for a nice introduction to modo. Tutorialsmodo is accompanied by a significant amount of tutorial material on video which cover in great detail various aspects of the application. Simply choose the Tutorials option from the Help > Documentation menu and select the topic of interest. Online HelpInside of modo, you have ready access to context sensitive Online Help. Just press the F1 key (your cursor becomes a “?” symbol) and then click on any button on the toolbars, or items in lists or options in menus. This will open the default HTML browser on your system to display information and examples on that topic. ForumWe believe that no one can support an artist better than other artists and so we have worked diligently to foster an incredibly prolific and professional community based on the idea that sharing is caring. By joining this community you can rest easy with the knowledge that someone will almost always lend you a helping hand on the Luxology forums. Access the Forum from Help > Forums inside of modo or navigate to the Forum on the Luxology website. The Forum has many different sections, so we recommend that you visit different areas to get a feel for what parts are of most interest to you. There is also a Search function for locating threads on specific topics. Luxology TVVisit Luxology TV to see the latest in online training and gallery videos. It's all free! Here you will also see a listing of events world-wide where you can interact with Luxology staff, other users or other parts of the community. Luxology TV videos are also available in iTunes / Ipod. Books, Training Videos and DVD'sLuxology offers a variety of training materials for sale produced by our Training Department as well as offerings from other companies. Luxology Asset PortalThis new section of the Luxology website is not only a great place to share assets, it is also an opportunity to learn more about modo. For example, you can learn about how the Material Presets are constructed to achieve the desired look. Scripting and Commands (and LXO)One of most efficient ways to use modo is to create custom scripts. But how? Inside of modo you can access the Help > Documentation menu to display a PDF file containing information on scripting, commands and modo’s native LXO format. LXO FormatIn addition to the information in the Appendix of the Scripting and Commands document, there is a separate document in the modo File I/O SDK called Importing and Exporting LXO Files. If you have purchased modo, the SDK is downloadable from your Registered Products area.
