Luxology announcements made at the show

  • Luxology announces the advent of Luxology TV - a searchable database of streaming and downloadable videos on 3D topics including training at Luxology.tv.
  • New Seahorse sculpting video being provided free to all 301 owners and available now for purchase ($25) in the Luxology store.
  • Two new translators coming for modo 301 (SKP import w/ textures and 3DM Rhino 3D import/export). $99 each.
  • Pixar and Luxology have concluded an agreement to share technology. The implications on products were not announced.
  • Two new books from Thomson Publishing will cover modo: Retouching Motion Pictures by Gary Bouton, and The Official Luxology modo 301 Guide by Dan Ablan.

SIGGRAPH Album (updated throughout the week!)

Here are some photos from the Luxology modo user event which took place on Sunday evening, August 5th in San Diego California. Over 200 gathered at the San Diego Museum and Air & Space to watch presentations by Luxology and modo users from around the globe. Thanks to Nokia, BMW DesignWorksUSA, Massive Entertainment, and Gyar for their participation in the event. Special thanks to Jeff Rutan and the rest of the San Diego modo user group as well!
