    Communication Arts gets some modo

Matthew Baldwin images selected for print magazine

The Computer Arts Illustration Annual '09 is a feast of images printed on fine paper. And we have a modo sighting! Matthew Baldwin of Austin, TX. gets a nice 2 page spread in the issue of 4 images that are his variations on crown. The 3D work on the images was all modo.

This is a print magazine on Newsstands now. Their website is paid subscription but I have provided a link to some of Matthew's work posted in our Gallery.

    modo 401 demo

Andy Brown takes modo 401 through its paces

I just watched the demonstration that Andy Brown put together for our London and Paris modo 401 events and it is really educational. For me it really brings alot of the abstract concepts like "channel modifier" to light (he uses one of these to reverse how a door opens). Enough talk! Watch this video!

    Link is below.

    Cheers,
    Bob

p.s. Andy - great job on this

    World Superbike image

    modo sighting (motorcycle)

Funny, I literally just got back from (watching) the World Superbike 2009 race in Salt Lake City and I found this set of images of a 2008 Kawasaki posted on CGTALK. The model and images are by Massimiliano Bottega.

The bike looks great - though I am an Aprilia man myself!

    See link below

P.S. the ride to and from the SBK event was great - 6 other guys and myself over 7 days.

    Motive Games

    It's a friend thang

So two people I used to work with have launched a new audio player for the iPhone and a book for it. The player platform (built by my bud Mike Taylor) is called Narrator and the book (by L.D. Taylor) is targetted at young adults and is called Motive Games. Today is Teen Literature day and so we donated a copy of modo to a contest they are running on their website (details at http://www.motivegames.com). Some other companies have chipped in too - Garage Games and Side Effects. The Motive Games website is sort of a tongue in cheek attempt to look like a real game developer's site. If you are into electronic books or young adult literature - check it out.

    3D Architecture Contest (1 April 2009)

Focus on fluidity and water....at TDT 3D

Yup, we're helping to sponsor another architectural contest over at TDT 3D. Love this stuff. The usual rules apply, you have to publish W.I.P. images. And there needs to some connection to H2O. Maybe a remodeled castle with a moat or a house built on a bridge over a canal....or a cool design to withstand coastal flooding.

Good luck! And mention modo please.
